Betty J. Miller 72, of Lima went to be with the Lord March 31st, 2015. She was surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was born May 6, 1942 in Ridgewood, Ohio to Leonard and Florence Collins Stratton who preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by her husband, soul-mate and best friend Richard Miller for the past 50 years; daughter Pamela (Dale) Hempfling of Lima, Lonnie (Brenda) Miller of Kettersville, Rick Miller of Harrod and Brenda Hershberger of Lima; grandchildren – Bret Grove, Lakin Grove, Jessalyn, DJ and Aubrey Hempfling, Nathan (Kristina) Jennings, Jerad (Ashley) Miller and Josh Miller; 2 sisters – Maxine Lombardo, and Mary Jane Steed White. She loved her nieces and nephews and was greatly loved by them.
Betty enjoyed praying with her best friend, Dondeline Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers – John (Dallas), Gene, Lewis, and Clifford Stratton; 2 sisters – Peggy Stebleton and Lucille Shark; sister-in-law – May Stratton and brother-in-laws – Patrick Lombardo, Bernard Shark, Dick Stebleton, and Dick Steed.
Betty was a beautiful lady who loved Jesus. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. She was a member of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God. She spent the better part of her life serving the Lord and praising him till her lasts days. Betty was a Sunday school teacher for 35 years and brought countless people to the Lord. No matter what life brought her she always was 'Happy' knowing God was on her side. She spent her last days witnessing with her family about Jesus and how to reunite with her again. She had a beautiful smile and kind heart; those who knew her will greatly miss her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, Ohio. Bishop Darnell Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
