Dr. John F. Grone Chiropractor, age 74 of Delphos, died at 6:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017 at St. Rita's Medical Center's hospice unit. He was born January 20, 1943 in Delphos, Ohio to the late Frank F. and Evelyn C. (Rahrig) Grone. On March 14, 1970 he married Ruth M. Drebenstedt (of Mediapolis, Iowa), who survives in Delphos.

John started Grone Chiropractic in 1971 in Elida, Ohio and then moved to Delphos, Ohio where he practiced until 2017. He was a U. S. Army Veteran surviving during Vietnam and a life member of the Ottoville V.F.W. Post 3740. His accomplishments include helping start Life University of Marietta, Georgia and supporting the Delphos St. Johns Athletic Boosters. He enjoyed working with his hands and very proud of building his new house and being able to incorporate pieces from his childhood home. His memberships included the Lehman Pride Motor Trike Organization and the Chiropractic Association of Ohio.

Survivors also include a son - Fred R. (Kristine) Grone of Florida; a daughter Rebecca M. 'Becky' (Scott) Burden of Lima; grandchildren - Kathryn and Michelle 'Emi' Grone and Scott Jr, Matthew, and Alex Burden. A brother - Irvin B. (Mary) Grone of Delphos; a sister Irene C. Kaufman of Ottawa, and a sister-in-law - Octavia Grone of Ft. Jennings.

He was preceded in death by brothers - George L. Grone , Elmer E. Grone, and granddaughter - Angela M. Burden.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, 311 West Main Street, Cridersville.

Military rites will be observed at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017 and a "celebration of Doc's life will follow where people will be encouraged to share memories.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Life Foundation, Inc. ( or Delphos St. John's Catholic Church.
