Katherine J. 'Kate' Romaker, age 91 of Lima and formerly of Cridersville, died at 11:50 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Lima Memorial Health Care. She was born June 9, 1925 in Defiance, Ohio; to the late Paul E. and Erma Caterina Bonfiglio. On June 15, 1946 she married James Richard Romaker who died November 16, 1992.

Kate was an elementary educator with United Local, Wapakoneta, Cridersville, Buckland, and St. Gerards Schools. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Serra Club of St. John's. She graduated in 1943 from Lima Central High School and in 1975 from Ohio State University Lima Campus. She had received a special education certification from the University of Dayton, had volunteered at Lima Memorial Health Systems, and was an avid Ohio State football fan.

Survivors include - 6 children - Ralph (Marlene) Romaker of Lancaster, Ohio; Carrie (Anthony) Scarozza of Buffalo, NY; Mary E. (Russell) Bales of Lima; Charles (Gina) Romaker of Chicago, IL; Anthony 'Tony' (Eva) Romaker of Columbus; and Robert 'Bob' (JaneAnn) Romaker of Albany, NY; a daughter-in-law - Barb Romaker of Lima; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 brothers - Frank (Alice) Bonfiglio of Toledo; Richard 'Bud' (Jeannine) Bonfiglio of Lima, Ohio; Ronald 'Ron' (Mary) Bonfiglio of Greenville, Ohio; a sister - Rosalie 'Rosie' (Keith) Adams of Greenville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by a son - Jim Romaker, who died November 29, 2011; 2 grandsons - Christopher R. Bales, who died October 11, 2016; David Romaker and 2 infant grandsons - Charles Romaker, II and Diego Romaker.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., Sunday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Serra Club or St. John's Catholic Church.
