Ronald W. Spyker, age 81, of Wapakoneta died 10:47 a.m., Sunday May 21, 2017 at St. Rita's. He was born Dec. 3, 1935 in Cridersville the son of Lester & Cecelia (Morris) Spyker who preceded him in death. On April 12, 1958, he married Betty A. Koenig who preceded him in death in 2011.
Ronald graduated from Cridersville High School and retired from Superior Tube. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta; Wapakoneta Eagles, VFW and American Legion. His hobbies included fishing, traveling and he loved watching the Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by children Kyle (Barbara) Spyker of Scott Depot, West Virginia and Rhonda (Denny) Toland of Wapakoneta; 8 grandchildren: Nicole (Harold) DeWeese, Jessica Rentfrow, Katie Rentfrow, Zach Rentfrow, Taylor (Patrick) Eavenson, Brandon Spyker, Amber Carpenter and Jordan Toland; 5 great grandchildren: Destanay, Kylee, Xavier, Kyrsten DeWeese and Aubree Carpenter. He was preceded in death by a daughter Julie Rentfrow and his siblings: Jean (Gene) Sherrick, Mary (Bill) Stumbaugh and Marge (Jim) Mathews.
A private memorial service will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
