Thomas Rush Anderson, age 96 of Lima, went home to be with his Savior at 6:44 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, on the Hospice Unit at St Rita's Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1921, in Morristown, TN to the late Ryburn and Effie Anderson. On November 23, 1947, he married Marrietta Jane Flick.(deceased)

Mr. Anderson was retired from the Nickle Plate and Norfolk Southern Railroads where he first started as a telegrapher. He attended Crossroads Church of God for over 60 years. His favorite things in life included spending time with his wife, playing with his grandchildren and gardening. He was deep rooted in his love of the Lord and his family. Whenever family would visit, his face would light up like a beam of light at night from a locomotive. His Family always enjoyed his stories of growing up on the farm in the hills of Tennesse.

Survivors include 2 sons – Thomas Michael 'Mike' (Cathy) Anderson of Marietta, GA; Timothy Douglas 'Tim' (Anthony) Barrick of Seattle WA; 2 daughters – Emily Elizabeth (David) Peters of Broken Arrow, OK; Nancy Jo (John, III) Young of Lima; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a close niece – Lanelle Lines and her family of Reynoldsburg, OH.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and three brothers all of Morristown TN.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 with Becky Bodey officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 27 6 -8 p.m.at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, OH.

In Leiu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Church of God, Lima, OH.

The family extends their greatest thanks to the staff at Elmcroft of Lima, Vancrest of Ada, OH, and to St. Rita's Hospice for their unwavering care and love.
