Doreen A. Brewster, 91, of 248 Greentree Lane, went home to her Lord and Savior at 4 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty.
She was born in London, England, on Aug. 5, 1920, a daughter of the late Thomas and Avis Wood.
On Aug. 13, 1944, she married Fredrick B. Brewster in London, England, and he survives, along with sons, Peter T. Brewster of Zanesfield, and Michael (Terry) Brewster of Bellefontaine; daughter, Judy (Doug Parker) Weber of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Keith (Tiffany) Brewster of Maumee, Gretchen Palmer and Holly Morris, both of Bellefontaine, Ivy (Dave) Blythe of Columbus and Kendra (Jim Campbell) Brewster of Zanesfield; four great-grandchildren, Colin and Lily Palmer, Shaye Brewster and Madlin Campbell.
Mrs. Brewster was a member of the Gretna Brethren Church, where she had many friends and cherished the fellowship. During World War II, she worked with the United States 8th Airforce in England. For her, the time in England was adventurous with a sense of romance. She loved sharing great stories of England, was ornery, and found enjoyment in dancing.
Pastor Larry Brown conducts a funeral at noon Wednesday at Gretna Brethren Church, where she was a member. Visitation is two hours prior funeral Wednesday. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
