Edna M. Armentrout Arbogast, age 85 of Lima, died at 12:30 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at Burtons Ridge. She was born June 13, 1926 in Lima Ohio. She is the daughter of Steven and Hildred McCool Roessler. Both parents are deceased.

Mrs. Arbogast worked at United Woolen Mills, then was manager of High Grade Dairy Bar, and went to work at Northland Bowling Lanes, before retiring from St. Rita's Medical Center Laundry. She was a member of the American Legion Post 96 where she had been a past President and Treasurer of the Auxiliary.

She worked hard all her life, was a great listener, always doing for others and consistently there for her family. Family was important to her, getting her grandchildren started with bowling gave her great enjoyment and encouraging them with becoming better readers was very gratifying . She loved reading and even helped with the Adult Literacy program in Allen County, tutoring children and adults to read. Cooking and baking were talents she had, delightfully creating dinners that were over the top. Pies were one of her specialties and a real treat for all.

She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. There were many happy memories of her brothers, sisters, and all their blessed times together. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.

Survivors include 2 sons – Ronald E. (Stella) Armentrout of Lima; Kenneth B. (Diane) Armentrout of Lima; 1 daughter – Brenda K. Egri of Lima; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers – Leonard (Sylvia) Roessler of Waynesfield; 3 sisters – Betty Stewart of Monroe, Michigan; Marian Groves of Lima; and Mary Jo Butler of Boston, Mass.

She was preceded in death by a grandson; a great grandson; 2 brothers – Darrel Roessler and David Roessler, and a son-in-law – Jerrold Egri.

Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Rev. Mark Tisch will officiate. Burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Shawnee Manor and Burtons Ridge for all their loving care, compassion, and friendship. Also thanks to hospice for the excellent care and comfort provided.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Rita's Hospice.
